THE FLESH FILES
DAY 4
Welcome to the fourth and final day of The Flesh Files. We’ve had a blast putting this together and sharing the process with you. To wrap things up, we’re looking at two tracks that bring a more manic, high-energy edge to the EP.
Today we'll break down the shift from the angular energy of Pull Out The Wire to the heavy, Prodigy-inspired rave-grunge of Big Machine. We talk about the evolution of these tracks, from riffs born in a rat-infested practice room to the mad sludge party vibe that defines them now.
Lyrically, we go into the fantasy of fucking it all off to live off-grid. We also get into the darker side of social media perfection and the way algorithms are shaping a generation, grooming them to participate in a system that’s rigged against them.
For our final session, we’ve put together an alternative version of Big Machine. This one is a direct homage to the trippy, sci-fi imagery of late 80s and early 90s video games, leaning into the weird, "alien" electronic sounds that have always influenced our art.
